As our Autumn term draws to a close we would like to remind you of the arrangements that will be in place during the two-week break.
- For the first 6 days after teaching ends, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school is asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
- School staff must be informed as soon as possible via email to email@example.com
- School staff are not asked to remain on-call or conduct any contact tracing more than 6 days after the final day of teaching. As our last day in school is Friday 18th December 2020 there should be no pupil contact tracing beyond Thursday 24th December 2020.
In line with this guidance, the school email will not be monitored from Thursday 24th December and all track and trace responsibility will be undertaken by Public Health England.
The best way to book a test should you need to do so is to telephone 119 or visit https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. Using our local testing facility at Temple Park Car Park, South Shields will help speed up results rather than opting for a home testing kit. We are not aware of any problems with capacity currently in getting a test at a test centre.
We hope that you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all safely back at school on Monday 4th January 2021.
Mr S Bowler
